Disclaimer
This page explains what New Habits, New Hope is and isn't, so you can use it with the right expectations.
Not medical advice
I'm not a doctor, and nothing on this site is medical advice. What I share is what worked for me personally, not a treatment plan for anyone else. Alcohol and drug withdrawal can both be medically serious, and for some people they're dangerous. If you use heavily, whatever it is, please talk to a doctor before you stop. If you or someone you're with has a seizure, severe confusion, or hallucinations, call 911. That's an emergency.
This matters more for some things than others. Coming off alcohol, benzodiazepines, or opioids can need medical supervision, and stopping suddenly on your own can do real harm. Quitting smoking or vaping generally doesn't carry that risk. I'm not the person to tell you which situation you're in, a doctor is.
Candy helped me get through cravings. It is not a treatment for withdrawal, and it isn't a substitute for medical care, therapy, or a recovery program that works for you.
Not a program or a nonprofit
New Habits, New Hope isn't a clinical program, a 12-step alternative, or a registered nonprofit. It's me sharing what actually got me through, and a small shop of the things I reached for. Becoming a nonprofit is the short-term goal, but it isn't built yet, and nothing here should be read as though it already is.
